Project
CLEWs-C2070 NRCan grant
A collaborative NRCan project rebuilding forest and biomass supply modelling for CLEWs-C2070 using open ws3 and fresh_fibre components.
CLEWs-C2070 focuses on innovative integration of climate, land, and water into energy models for addressing Canada's net-zero commitments.
FRESH is rebuilding the forestry and biomass supply component from transferred Forest Fibre Cascade Model archive evidence into an open, maintainable modelling path.
The current diagnostic architecture links ws3-shaped forest harvest outputs to fresh_fibre, a downstream profit-maximizing network-flow linear programming model for fibre allocation, processing capacity, residues, markets, and exports.
Recent prototype work has established a BC mini-network, typed CSV contracts, PuLP/CBC solve path, ws3 export bridge, SCANFI diagnostic inventory fixture, and Gauthier et al. 2015 yield-policy evaluation path. This work remains diagnostic rather than production-calibrated.
